Focus
Focus is the most scarce resource in a world engineered to distract you — reclaiming it is an act of rebellion and the key to doing meaningful work.
What Is Focus?
We live in a world engineered to steal your attention. The average person checks their phone 96 times a day. Your team's most valuable resource isn't time; it's attention.
Nic's DIAL framework (Decide, Intend, Act, Loop) provides a practical system for reclaiming focus. It's not about going offline; it's about being intentional with where attention goes.
Why Focus Matters
Teams that can't focus can't do deep work. And teams that can't do deep work can't innovate. Focus is the prerequisite for everything else: creativity, quality, and meaningful output.
The sacrifice fallacy (the belief that saying no to distractions means missing out) is what keeps most teams stuck in shallow work. Breaking that fallacy is the first step.
